Hello all wise ones,

Just wondering what is going on with my vals... Every couple of days, I see that some have come off their stem and begin floating around the top of the water. There isn't just one or two stems, there is about 5-10 leaves.

Do they go through this due to the time of year or is this a sign of in-perfect water conditions?

The reason I ask is because this seems like a hardy plant that should be striving. I see little "off-spring" shooting out from the base of the plant which is a good sign. Do these plants simply die off over time? I've had them for about 6-8 mths now and they are just dying off.

Quick update with water parameters....

pH: 7.6-7.8
Ammonia: 0 ppm
Nitrite: 0 ppm
Nitrate: 0 ppm
GH: 89.5-107.4 ppm
KH: 35.8-53.7 ppm

Are you fertilizing your tank, and if so, with what and how often.  Also, how are the other plants doing?
