Title: Substrate
Post by: Mike62 on March 04, 2015, 04:09:16 PM
Should I be considering crushed coral substrate, or select sand...or a combination of both? The plan is to be just a reef tank for now, but some day to start adding fish (as finances allow) Is Caribsea a reputable brand?

Caribsea is pretty much the most trusted brand. I use Seafloor Special, which is he most common as far as I can tell, and I really like it.

Crushed coral grade can be too chunky and sharp for some fish and inverts that live in or sleep in the sand.

I use caribsea substrate in all my cichlid tanks. Great product. You can often find it used as well
