Title: (Local) Co2 Regulators
Post by: pminister on January 26, 2010, 01:07:59 PM
As much as I would love to get the Rex Rigg or Sumo Regulator kits, they are lil out my price budget. So for all who have the Green Fever for their planted tanks, what are some good regulators that you have bought locally ?

And that can be customizable where I can attach the following items to it:
-Clippard Solenoid
-Either Ideal Needle Valve or Swagelok Needle Valve
-Check Valve
-Bubble Counter

And specific places ?

Please and thank you  :)

For stand alone regulators ( regulators without the solenoid & other stuff), you can try the welding suppliers or the the beer & pop dispenser industry.

In my opinion  you will be hard pressed to assemble  a co2 rig with a local  supplied regulator & the above parts for much less than you can buy a Rex Grigg or Sumo kit, unless you have some of the parts already .
Keep in mind the Regulator along with the Needle valve are probably the 2 most critical pcs in the chain, a quality needle valve such as Swagelok or Ideal, is as good as the Regulator or vice versa.
