Hey y'all. Does anyone know where to find a needle valve that has a thread of 1/8 npt? I am looking at making a Paintball tank CO2 system for my aquarium and this is hte last part I need. I've looked online (HomeDepot) and nothing shows up for 1/8" npt. Anyone know of a place i can go to get this valve?

Saltcreep

HD has way more stuff like that on the shelves than you'll ever see online. Check out your local store.

Pheow. I thought i was up the creak without a paddle because i just purchased a regulator off ebay.. :) Cheers!

Is this needle valve going to be used in your set up for down regulating the gas to very very low flow to your reactor/ diffuser?

If you cobbling together a DIY system anyway, a saddle-valve might be something to consider. You would have to get your CO2 supply line up to 1/2 copper for an inch or two to install the valve. It's a needle valve which can be dialed down to a very low flow. Commonly used on the supply line to a furnace humidifier.

Yes this needle valve is going to be used for dialing down my regulator off my paintball tank. I just purchased one off eBay and I can't seem to find anything with 3/8" npt. I swung by HomeDepot and they have 1/4" npt...

Is there any specialists in Ottawa or should I try Rona / Lowes?

Personally, i would be very skeptical of using the needle valves i have seen @ the Rona`s & Home depot, the reason is that for our purposes we need a pretty stable metering valve to consistently control the gas flow  but that`s just my take.
The only local source i know of is  the local reps for Swagelok, that said they don`t keep metering valves in stock ( special order) & it`s not cheap, you might want to try J&L Aquatics or some other on line source ( tons out there) that sell economy needle valves ( approx 25.00) that can do the job but can be a pit finicky.
There is a reason a good co2 rig cost a few bucks, you can get by with some of the economy units such as the Milwaukee regulators which comes with the regulator, Solenoid valve, needle valve & bubble counter +can be had locally @ a few local sources ( Ray`s , La Niche that i know of) , but it might too late for that now.
Hope that helps.
Again only a personal opinion

Yeah watch it with the needle valve selection you can kill your fish. Like mentioned you need stability in metering. Me I'd go with a setup designed for this purpose and take my losses repost it on EBay as-is. Just my $0.02. Several times I tried to take short cuts it cost me more. :( Besides those paint ball setups gas out fast you spend 1/2 your time getting them refilled. It is more expensive then having 10 lb. bottle filled which is $25 approx. You can get a 10 lb bottle filled and certified for 7 years at Davidson Fire Extinguishers for approx. $125. That depending on how much injected can last for 6 - 8 months easily maybe more. What size tank you setting up on?

My tank size is approximately 25 gallons.

I don't want to add much CO2 as they are doing a little better then expected without CO2. I'd like to add just a bit to treat the plants.
