Why is it that when some people post pictures in a thread they appear automatically, whereas when other people post you have to download the picture?

Just curious as to how that works.

Use the html tags above when you are adding a post as opposed to "attaching" the picture.

The UBB tags are the best way to display an image however to use them the image you want to display must already be on a website somewhere.

If the image is only on your computer than it must be attached to your post so that it will be uploaded onto the OVAS website.  When attaching an image, if the image is less than 640x900 pixels in size then it is displayed automatically in the post.  If it is larger than this than a link is displayed so that you have to download the image.  This gives people the option to view or not to view large images.  This is especially important for people using dial-up internet access.
