I picked up a 36G Aqueon bowfront kit on Black Friday for just over $100. I was unimpressed with the HOB filter that came with the tank so I decided to build a DIY internal overflow filtration system inside the tank. After I had the filter sorted out to my liking I started to work on the aquascaping. I had seen some Red Dogwood root balls on a walk one day and thought they would be a fine addition so I picked them up along with some rocks and set up the tank. After that I decided that it would be even better with some leaf litter so I went looking for some Oak leaves and added them too.
With the roots and leaves it became a blackwater tank. This is only my second blackwater tank ever but this one sure looks great.
I haven't decided on stock yet but my room mate has offered to pay for some Exodon Paradoxis. He loves their aggressive attitude.
Here are some pics of the progress of the filter and tank as well as a few links to videos of the build so far.

That's pretty wild looking! Never seen a tank set up like that, definetly hope to see how it turns out for ya!
