Who is keeping an outdoor pond?

What temperature is the water?

In particular, Im wondering if your pond is in the over 72F range during the summer and how long.

our pond on average is in the low 70s(its located in the more shady part of the yard), but has gone up to 80 on those really hot days. hope this helps

Last year my fish were outside from the first week of June until the first week of September, once the water had dropped down into the low 60's.  My pond gets direct afternoon sun, so it was always in the mid-70's or warmer, but having a lot of plant cover and water circulation kept it from overheating.
