I finally found some time and threw together a medium-sized pond, just under 375 gallons. It's about 8" below ground and 8" above ground. I filled it with water from the hose when i was done and it was freeeezing! I thought i would be able to just throw my turtles in it right away, but i think it's still too cold.

What is warmest the pond should get over the summer? Will I require a pond heater if i plan to keep my RES in there? How soon should i throw them in?

thanks.

ps, pix to come! i'm so excited! it looks so awesome!

I'm sure they'd like warmer water in the range of 70 and above.

A pond that size shouldn't have any problem getting into the 80's depending on how much sun it gets.

Hi,

The temperature will for sure go in the 80-90 degrees in the summer what is normal no problem for the fish.
Thanks,
