Title: Squish fish and melafix
Post by: Caitiepi on February 25, 2016, 10:13:51 AM
Hey guys, so I have a Siamese algae eater that managed to get itself wedged behind a big piece of driftwood in my tank. I'm not sure how long it was back there, but it couldn't have been for more than a day. I released it as soon as I found it, and at first it kind of sunk to the bottom of the tank. However, it seems to have rallied- it survived the night which is good and is swimming around. The side that was pinning by the wood has a few abrasions, but other than that, it looks ok.  My question is, should I treat the water with melafix so that the abrasions heal more quickly? And how much does melafix affect the cartridges in filters?

Thanks in advance!!

No. I think it recovered quick.  Wait and see.
