Terra Cotta in a Malawi Tank

Any ideas on this?

I found an inexpensive way to crate lots of good hiding spots and homes ofrmy Malawi tank was to take (unsealed) terra cotta pots and bash the bottoms out, and lay them sideways. Ive got a bunch of differernt sizes and they seem to love it (with slate from one to the other aswell). Do you think this will affect the water at all?
