Surface surfing Assassin Snails

Hey everybody! I've noticed something interesting since I introduced duck weed into my tank...

My assassin snails are surfing on the bottom of the surface upside down. Any ideas as to why that would happen?

My briggs do it all the time... Just another surface for them to slide over and pick up food...
