a fert regime guideline for people new to planted tanks

Is there any kind of guideline for fertilizing planted tanks for people who are new to the planted tank world. You know something that could help them get started on a fert/trace elements regime for their tank. Also something that would define a lightly planted tank from a medium or heavily planted one, CO2 injection, lighting, possilbly some planting tips etc. Just something that is kinda all in one place. Alternatively we could split the forum again to include a plants section or something like that.

The thought of all this came to my mind since I'm trying to get into more plants and was getting lots of good ideas and help from others (ex: Dave, Marx).

OH, if I've overlooked the fact that this exists as a sticky or something like that then I'll just shut up.
