New meeting location for the 2023/2024 Season will be at J.A. Dulude arena.  Meetings start at 7 pm.

RIP Word the Bird

I am heart broken at the sudden loss of my Pacific Parrotlet Word the Bird.

I woke up this morning to an empty cage.  He managed to find a small space to escape out of & ran into my kitten Small Fry.  It took me 2 hours to find where he was hiding.

I didn't realize how bad the damage was until I was at the vets office.  So I did what was right & put him to sleep.

I am so devastated right now... my mind feels so cloudy.

He was such an awesome little guy.

Life is too short to wake up with regrets.  So love the people who treat you right.  Forget about the one's who don't.  Believe everything happens for a reason.  If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands.  If it changes your life, let it.  Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.

Oh no...I know exactly how you feel.  Hugs.

I lost my Quaker last summer very suddenly to liver and kidney failure that I didn't see coming.  I'm still feeling that sense of loss.

I am so sorry !! We've lost precious friends before and know how you feel, you have our dearest sympathies !

For what it's worth, I think Word the Bird is an AWESOME name !!!  May His spirit carry on...
