Jewelry hallmarks? Collecting vintage pieces

anyone know anything about vintage jewelry and hallmarks or maker identification?

I've been looking online and there is so much information out there!! been sifting through things, but if someone knows of a website or even a jeweler in the Ottawa/Montreal area that is trusted, would love to know!!

I have several pieces of jewelry that need repair and I'd love to know where they come from!!! I'm afraid of repair costs though!! one a diamond is missing, and due to the age to get one to match it might be a fortune!! (I know someone who had one diamond appraised and said to match it, the diamond would be around 3000$!!)

Anyone else love collecting jewelry?
