46 Gal bowfront cracked top frame

I have an older 46 Gal bowfront that I picked up used last year.  the top brace has cracked and the tank now bows an extra cm wider!!  No sing of any leaks, but this freaks me out, I really don't want to wait and see if it fails completely.  It seems this size tank can't really be found anymore.  I don't think I'm likely to find just the top frame to replace it, or who easy this job would be anyway.  I like the size of this tank, and I like the simple wood stand it came with.  Any suggestions for where I might find a replacement?  Any guesses for how likely the tank is to fail?
