Name: Astrea Snail
Scientific name: Astraea tecta
Care Level: Easy
Temperament: Peaceful
Reef compatible: Yes
Max Size: 1 Inch
Origin: Carabbean

Liked about it:

-small, can go to small cravaces
-cheap for their size
-good algea grazors
-because of the weird shape, hermits tend to leave them alone

Didnt like:

-they tip over often, and they can die like that

Would consider buying it again:

-Yes

good review I agree

PRO: cheap if you want to make necklace  ;D

CON: I find that they tip over too often and die shortly after if I don't see them... sometime I wonder if I'm wasting my money on them.  >:(

Conclusion: Prefer trochus even at 3 for 1

I love  Astrea snails I have had some for more then 5yrs. The are great slow and steady. Trochus are great also brown and black footed ones. But I would say they are all equal because they all benefit the aquarium in a different way, they may need to be tipped over but seems once they are established and healthy its not an issue. I never have mine tip over.
