Chloramine removal through carbon filter?

I am considering installing a whole house carbon filter at the main water entry of the house to filter out chloramine and other impurities (I basically see it as a huge Britt filter :)).

Has anybody done this? Does it indeed allow you to use this water straight for water changes without having to use dechlorinator, prime or other?

Thanks! Eleonore

Hi Eleonor,
So I haven't used it myself, but I asked a guy I know in Toronto about it.
He said that there is a special carbon block you need to use to remove chloramines, but with that you would be good to go. Pentax Chlorplus if he remembers correctly.
