Hi, i was looking for help with building an indoor pond for my turtles, i was thinking of buying this tub (http://www.homedepot.ca/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10051&storeId=10051&productId=38561&langId=-15)

And then building a  rack enclosure around it and then adding plants on the outside and other suck things, and have a plexi-glass front to view them with.

No anyone have tips/pics on building suck enclosures? Also will my floor take the weight? I guess i would have to make sure that is centered over my "I" Beam with the 1500lbs of weight and all that.

Thanks any help is appreciated.

1500lbs is a minor estimate.  You are looking much higher!!

I build one in my BASEMENT using ply-wood and painting it with extra coats of latex and other non-toxic water-proofing "agents".

Umm, that plexy-glass front will change the difference in price from $150 for all wood to over $500 ish maybe.

I believe the one you linked to is intended for in-ground installation.

There are large rubbermaid tubs that you can buy at places like Ritchie Feed & Seed for comparable prices.

One thing that you're going to want to remember is that a pond that size gives off a LOT of evaporation. You're going to want some type of good dehumidifier nearby, otherwise it may lead to mold and the rotting out of pieces of your home.

Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback guys, I don;t think i want a standard Rubbermaid tub just becaus ei like the shelfs and the deeper parts of the home Depot one, I will just make sure to brace it properly, and yeah i had thought about the moisture and will have a dehumidifier near ,anyone have an pics to give me ideas?
