this may sound like a stupid question but what is liverock?

BigDaddy

Live rock is from marine environments only.

Essentially.. its coral remains that have been re-populated with all manner of living organisms.

Marx

man i think you should read a few books before starting into marine!!

yellowtang

you wonder what live rock is!!
Live rock is rock chunks which have living organisms
such as crabs, clams, micro organisms, algae and at times
live corals which will grow depending on the kind of lighting you
might have.
live rock will only thrive according to light.
if trying to set a marine aquarium.........Do reseach as it is
a quite expensive hobby.

The OVAS library has some good books on the marine hobby by Delbeck. Read volume one. (Be careful of most books written more than about 8 years ago.) The hobby has changed.

Also, visit Marinescape on Carling Ave.
