Requesting Submissions: Aquatic Acronyms

I'd like to throw up a summary article with aquatic terms, acronyms, definitions, etc.  A "glossary" or "index" of sorts.  I'd like if everyone could post here any suggested items for the glossary. 

There are always lots of posts from newer users asking things like "what is HITH?", "what is MTS?" etc etc.  A nice little summary would help I think.

I'll flesh it out a bit but right now items I'm thinking include:

MTS, HITH, Eheim, Sump, HOT, RO/DI, (brain doesn't have enough coffee)

Please just throw items in this thread and I can write it up.  Thanks!

MB   Methylene Blue. Used for aquarium disease treatments, or quarantine dips
pH   Measure of the concentration of hydrogen ions, equal to -log[H+], (7 acidic, =7 neutral,)7 basic
RO   Reverse osmosis, type of water purification
RO/DI   Reverse osmosis/De-Ionized water
RUGF   Reverse flow undergravel filter
SAL   Salinity
SG   Specific gravity
SW   SaltWater/SeaWater
UGF   Under gravel filter
WDF   Wet/Dry Filter. Filter that uses
WQ   Water Quality

F8 = Figure eight puffer
GSP = Green spotted Puffer
MBU = Mbu puffer
SM = South American puffer

Plecos et al:

BN = Bristlenose catfish (also BM= Bushy mouth)
Otto or Oto = Otocinclus.
Pleco or Plec = Plecostomus.
L-### are L numbers for the Loricariidae family (Plecos, Panaques, Ancistrus,
and Baryancistrus)
Gibby = Gibeceps pleco

your F0-F1 etc is not correct.  there is no such thing as F0.  the correct term is WC (Wild Caught)  1st generation from wild parents are G1, G2.    F1,F2,F3 can be offspring from any parents, wild or not

there was some discussion on this topic on the old board.

under water i think that you have something wrong with the salt water.
FOWLR: fish only with live rock
fish only with live rock reef doesn't make sence because then there are corals wich arn't fish.

Fish only with live rock is very common. Sure there mgiht be some small corals here or there, but you aren't adding corals specifically like yuo would in a reef tank.

yeah i know, its very common, but i have never heard some one say, FOWLR, and be refering to fish only with live rock reef(but fish only with live rock) unless i miss read what UW said.
