Hi there,

Just wondering if anyone has any experiences growing aquatic plants as house plants in pots?  I'm particulary wondering about ECHINODORUS 'KLEINER BAR because it likes to grow new ones for me and I could use some more plants for the apartment outside of water.  Would be interesting to see if anyone has tried.  I'm thinking as long has it has roots and is young, it should acclimate to being outside of water?

Thanks.

I've grown Hemianthus callitrichoides "Cuba" as a houseplant, grew it in an
old orchid bowl. It did wonderfully until summer holidays and then I forgot
about it and it dried out :-[.
Never did get to grow it underwater.

I've read somewhere that people have grown E. Kleiner Bar as a  houseplant,
just at the moment it escapes me where I saw it.

Thanks, I feel more comfortable to try to grow the Kleiner Bar in a pot.  I guess I'll just try to make sure the soil is moist and mist the plant when I can.  Might not have as much red leaves as when it is in the tank but I'll be curious to see how it turns out. :)

Well I tried and failed at the Kliener bar.  I kinda knew that it would dry out.  Its still in the pot by the window.  Maybe it might grow back from the roots.  I don't know.  Rather embarrassing but I tried.
