Animated Gifs no longer work as avatars... :( This is a huge issue that might bring the entire system crashing down!!! ::)
They don't? I don't believe anything has changed here...and pretty sure pwrca has an animated GIF that still works...
I think it works ;)
Geeze mine doesn't... :(
editted by me:
This one works my others didn't weird.
Too bad they work... I seem to recall there might be an option to hide those things or that might have only been signature.

I was looking into that too. Seems if you want to turn off the animations you have to hide everyone's avatar from your view. Signatures and avatars are separate and each can be hidden.
mine seems to work just fine

Argh Dan your current animated avatar is giving me a headache!
Is that any better? 8)
The Christmas cat is much better, that old guy doing face calisthenics was somewhat disconcerting. ;)
Yes! I like that cat!
Now that's a nice Christmas present dan. :)
I thought my eyes were going to pop out of my head from that other avatar. :o :o :o

Wait for New Years Eve! :o
There how is this avatar?
It is quite lovely Dan2x38 you big weirdie, I hope you change your socks as often! ;D
Don't come to my house,my monkey will shoot you LOL :D . The monkey ate my homework. ( I hope you know its not real).
So what was the final consensus on this? My new avatar is supposed to be animated, but it's not displaying it! :( It works fine on my desktop...
I want my kitty to pet my fish! :(
I think if the forum software has to resize the GIF to much to fit the frame the animation will not function. The other alternative might be the program used to create the animation might not be recognized.
Weird, I stole this from another (non-fish!) forum, so it should work and be the proper size... It was so cute too!
The consensus is that animated GIF's are allowed. They must be 100px by 100px, or the website will resize them...and probably lose the animation.
Does anyone know how to resize gifs? Seems mine is 150 x 150...

Thanks! I'll have to try and find a copy of one of those programs.
