It's been a while

After being away for a few years (job, health, retiring, moving) I'm getting back into the hobby. I cleaned up the 5g & 15g and have them set up and ready to start. I am going to have a problem using the water in Casselman and will need to use bottled. Beside the fact it smells and has a yellowish tinge (and most people here don't drink it) it has a PH of 8.2, Ammonia .5 ppm, Nitrate 20 ppm, Nitrite 0 ppm. And we keep getting reassured it is safe for consumption.
The tanks are in the home office. The 5g will be a planted Betta and snails and the 15g a planted with shrimp with dwarf species. Low Co2.
I've been in the background on this site catching up for a few weeks, but now it's time to get involved.
PS The Missus is already warning me that "You will not be getting any more big tanks, having 2 is enough" but MTS is in my blood.
I would love to redo my 75g SA biotope w/ C02.
