I have a planted tank with various plants...I dont know half the names of them.

My ghost shrimp is about 1.3 years old now, so he should be kicking the bucket soon...once he does, I plan to go with kribs in this tank (2 kribs, m/f, 1 cory, 1 pleco, maybe no pleco...dont know yet)

What is the best water parameters to keep the plants happy and the kribs?

I keep finding mixed results on google, and decided to fall back to ovas.

Ph neutral, temp 22?
or high ph (8.3-8.5), temp 22?

This will be my first FRESH hard water setup  (I either have brackish, or neutral fresh) tank.

The first site to go for kribs info I suggest:

or here:

In brief, I had them with pH=8-8.5, GH=25, KH=10 – no fry ever. And also in the tank, where pH=6, GH=3, KH=2.
Concerning plants – depending what plants you have, but mainly plants do not like alkaline (high pH) and very hard water. I suggest you look at the parameters they prefer, e.g. here: http://www.tropica.com/plant_print.asp

If you prefer the tank with hard water in it maybe you should go with rift lake cichlids, but in this case forget about plants (except anubias...). Kribs could be kept in hard water, but there will be no fry (as I mentioned) if KH is very high, as the eggs will not be fertilized.

Kribs are almost as bad as convicts for the ease of care and breeding.

I would skip the pleco and add a couple more cories, as cories really do need to have buddies o their own kind to play with.

BUT be prepared to yank the cories out if the Kribs breed. Momma and Poppa kribs are terrors to other fish when they are guarding fry.
