Results of my first pond project and new pond in progress..

Thought I would post how my first pond turned out.  it's 530G with a 60G bog that feeds the water fall.  I liked it so much I started a 2nd pond for Koi.

I really like what you've created.   My intention on my pond was that the stream would be a place for the birdies to have a drink, but the stream is too fast (and I like it that way).   I have noticed the birds are still able to drink, both from the stream and the edge of the pond, but next year I want to make a few changes.

Your bog sounds very interesting, and I'd like to know how you set it up and see more pics, please?

I used this from homedepot http://www.algreenproducts.com/catalogue.php?cat=Preformed%20Ponds&id=91907  it's perfect since it has spillway (cheaper than water fall bio filters) it was $60 or so.  It has a plant shelf which I use for bare root lillies and other plants and it's only 18 inch deep so other marginals could be planted bare root at the bottom.  I threw some ceramic rings in the bottom and parrots feather, water hycinth for veggie filter on top.

This you tube video shows it better. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kBKCNg6F0-A I sunk it into the ground to feed the water fall.  I have small pool at the bottom that birds use all the time for bath.  I'm building a 2500 G pond now and plan on using the same pre-formed for the water fall filter setup

That is really beautiful and well done.   That corner is going to be spectacular once the other pond is done too!

awesome job on the smaller pond and then knowing how much digging is no fun, you went bigger outstanding!!   
you soil looks to have lots of rocks in it are you putting and under liner of some kind hate to see it get punctured

The 2nd one is mostly in.  This is how I left it for the winter.  It's got a liner protector installed on both ponds.
