How hard is it to just put on a mask and comply with the store policy, and the city's mandatory by-law btw? It's for everyone's sake, including her's, because anyone could be an Asymptomatic carrier.

 Just wanted to point out to all the vitrue signallers. My brother has Emphysema. It is genetic and not the result of smoking as he never has. Wearing a mask for him is a non-starter. He has had a number of confrontations over mask wearing from people he doesn't know. He now rarely goes to stores instead relying on his wife. While I agree this lady was diffuclt, the title of the video leaves a sour taste. Consider that she does have a medical condition that prevents her from wearing one. She has likely as in the case of my brother been harrased continuously.  If she is the only adult in the house and does have a condition, this makes her life hell. Two sides of the story.

Thanks for highlighting conditions that may prevent mask wearing. It is good to be informed and it is indeed a struggle.

Since Masks are mandatory in public spaces as per government regulations at all levels including the city, not wearing it is not an option. People who cant wear masks should enlist other's help for essential supplies (aquariums do fall in that category if you are an aqua addict! ha). Many people in quarantine are handling it that way.

Jodi handled it in a respectful and courteous manner. It was so natural that I'm inclined to think its not his first time

There is an exception for those with medical conditions.. Read the bylaw.

There are exemptions for medical issues, and they are not required to provide proof. 

The anti maskers are a movement that are against the mask as a symbol of government control, where it is against their free will and they are backed up by "research that proves masks are ineffective", which she mentions.

Mike L, I totally agree, there are those who have conditions which limit their wearing masks, and we do our best to accommodate them.
Unfortunately there seems to be more people who claim to have a disability than actually do, and I have a duty to try to keep the staff safe as well. It puts us a retailers in a difficult spot, do we refuse entry to everyone who doesn't want to or can't wear a mask, or let anyone in and disregard the health of our staff, which includes asthmatics and people with lung issues (me for one, the last two times I have had a cold I ended up coughing up blood, getting xrays and being put on antibiotics to prevent infection)

So that being said, as it is mandated from Ottawa health we don't refuse service, we just try to accommodate by doing curbside if at all possible. In this case, the woman was let inside, I did tell her that she can't handle anything..

Like I said, no win situation.

If she has a medical condition, she could have gotten a statement from her family doctor or the specialist that treats her. She clearly didn't; she was just making problems and talking about the violation of her rights.

Jody-Thank you for enforcing this. On the other side of the "well I can't wear a mask" issue is people like me who will die if I get covid. As such, I'm paranoid to such degrees that the following story happened in a walmart. I saw a group of people without masks and asked staff about it. They basically said they don't do anything about it. I had a total meltdown and...well I can never go back out of embarrassment and fear. Also, this was the same walmart that asked for proof that my service dog is a service dog. (which I don't mind and even approve of)
