I am looking at doing a water sculpture for one of my ponds and if anyone out there knows the effects of copper on a pond or the life in it, if any

You might want to do a little more research but if my past experience can help...

I had a pond with some copper tubing for filter system.  With all the wildlife you can imagine (frogs, koi, plants, and a turtle...)  it didn't seem to be an issue.   keep in mind it was a fair amount of water 600g+...

Something tells me that it would be a bad idea...I can't remember the specific information I read but I personally stay clear of it.

All pond filters, hoses and pipes are made out of a specific kind of PVC plastic that is safe for the fish and other inhabitants.  I would think that if copper tubing was safe, they wouldn't need to go through the trouble of making everything with that special plastic.

I agree that you should do some research.
