I have a 20 gal tank with plants and the article about the CO2 was interesting. Is my tank too small for a CO2 generator like what was in the article? (2ltr bottle) Would I need to regulate the CO2 or just let it run continuously.  I have an air curtain on the bottom of my tank in the back corner that I was thinking of running the tube to but would it be better to run it to my aquaclear filter/pump instead? Thanks for the info.

I would think that 2l is too much for 20 gallons.

I have 500 ml coke bottles on 10 gal and 20 gallons.

You just have to change the amount of yeast, sugar and water proportionally.

I use the following recipe for 500 ml coke bottle:
- 100 mg of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon of yeast
- 400 ml of water

You would have to test ph/kh regularly (first few weeks) to determine CO2 levels and watch for the fishes.

Ok, I was wondering about that. How long does the mix last you?

valiko

about 7-10 days.

If you are lazy you can buy Hagen CO2 Plant system, it is currently on sale at SuperPet Kanata for $29.

It is basicaly DIY setup but packaged nicely.
