^bs. that traditional saying is wrong. depending on filtration and natural filtration. u could have 100 hermits & snails in a 10g with proper filtration.

Your corals were shipped from God knows where from harvester or propagator to wholesaler to distributor to LFS.
No light, no circulation and only heat.
Don't know how long they spend on a ship, plane, truck before they arrive at your LFS.
Maybe Pat, Ray, Az or any other LFS operator can enlighten us.
Yes they may arrive stressed but they survive.
IMO turning off the lights may cause some stress.
But with what you are already doing, turning off the lights for a few days will surely kick the crap out of the hair algae in a much shorter time.
