what do you guys use for moon lighting?

If you're looking for something a little less expensive than the 4 or 6 LEDs for $100 units, then once again, I turn to DIY. Walmart stocks these flexible LED strips in the automotive accessories section. For about $30 you get two 15 inch strips with 15 LEDs each. I put two blue strips into the canopy of the tank I built for a young friend more for a night light than anything else, but the moonlight effect is very nice too. Low voltage too - 12VDC for safety. I've been using the white ones as low voltage lighting at the cottage for about a year now with no issues. I'm running about 300 LEDs with not one failure yet.

I use the moonlights that plug into the reefkeeper light system. Work great and cycles the moon light based on a 30 day cycle etc...

Does cost about 100 for the module in addition to the controller if you don't have an rkl.

But worth it I find

Same here with the DIY moonlights
Walmart automotve but I used
rigid bars of leds. There is 6 in a strip
and you can add more by plugging one
into the next like a chain. 12v transformer
from an old cordless phone. Works great
cost me 20 bucks.
