Maybe I'm just falling behind the times at my advanced age (... of 26), but I've noticed that many forums have entries that simply read "bump".  Could someone kindly fill me in on what this is all about?

When you add to a thread, the thread gets moved to the top of the display list for everyone else.  So, sometimes you want some more attention paid to your message (common in Classified's).  If you reply to yourself with a "bump", it moves the message to the top of the forum list.

Hence, "Bump"ing it to the top.
