Hi Everyone,
I have been asked recently when the next Kensfish order will happen. I planned to place the order by late evening of Thursday, May 21. If we have enough participants by then, I'll proceed with the order. Similar to previous orders, here are some simple rules to follow:
- gas money is $25.
- border fee is $7.
- shipping is FREE if the order is above $75.
- HST of 13% on the entire at the border.
- receiver fee of $5 per box of item. I will calculate the amount for each person based on how much and what type of item(s) each of us ordered.
- all fees and gas will be split proportionally (based on your total) so it's fair for everyone.
- NO DELIVERY. But I will be meeting you all at the parking lot of Home Depot Barrhaven.
- cash only please; no cheques, Paypal, etc... but will entertain Interact payment by email.

Just a question: do customs look/ask for and confiscate any fish food? I thought we couldn't bring any over the border. When I came back from Ohio, we used to just say "aquarium supplies" but if they searched, my guess is they would have taken it. Has this changed?

I've been doing many many orders already and not once they confiscated our supplies. Aquarium food and supplies are perfectly ok. Live fish is another story.... Yes, they have searched my vehicle from time to time but everything is ok.
Fish are no problem if you check the AIRS site to make sure the fish you are bring over are approved.
Normal when we bring fish back from Ohio we print the forms. These forms are the same thing the border would look up so normally they just go since we have done the work they would have had to do.
But only tell them you have live fish if they ask. Personal use, not for re-sale.....hobby

Yes vic622, Interact email payment is still an option; as long as I don't incurred any charges to it (such as Paypal). The last time I used it, only the sender has to pay a small service fee.

Yes definitely! I will be keeping everyone informed on when I'll go pick up the order. After receiving the order, I'll do a count to ensure we've got everything. If we are ordering bulk items where we need to divide up among members, I'll do that as well (weighing and bagging).
Normally, we meet on a Saturday at the Barrhaven Home Depot parking lot to distribute the items. People normally pay me then. For those who can't make it on that day, I would ask they send a friend or a fellow member to pick up the items for them. I normally do not make deliveries for people but willing to hear your option if it is reasonable.

Just a note... Whenever possible, I tried to combine similar item together to save everyone cash. For example, if person A wants 1/2 lbs of the same product as person B, I'll get 1 lb instead of 2 x 1/2lb. It is also easier for Ken to gather the stuff as it reduces the chance of error/miscount.
Also, I got the discount code from Ken this morning so we'll be getting 10% off for sure :)
As per original schedule, I am placing the order tomorrow (Thursday) evening. If things go according to plan, I'll be in Ogdensburg on Saturday morning, May 30. We should be able to meet and pick up the stuff sometime late afternoon (perhaps 5 or 6pm) that day.

Just created a mock-up order with Kensfish to see where we stand so far....
All items are in stock except the following:
1) Finnex HC-0800 Heater Controller; out of stock
2) Brine Shrimp Eggs @90%; out of stock
3) Ista Max Mix CO2 Reactor Large; only has 2 in stock and we need 3 so I'll grab the last 2.

Ok folks... Order has been placed....
I've updated the initial thread at the top and crossed out the items that are out of stock at the time of the order. Also, only managed to get 2 CO2 reactors (as mentioned earlier). Rah, perhaps you would like to give up one of your CO2 reactors to Eric to that each of you will at least have something...???
Total for the order is $984 USD with the $107 discount.... That's quite a bit of savings!

The order arrived in Ogdensburg today. As per my earlier posted thread, I'll be going there this Saturday, May 30 and will meet all of you around 6pm at the corner of the Home Depot Barrhaven parking lot.

Well folks... We are back from Ogdensburg and have sorted out all the items. Only 2 items are out of stock with this shipment. I've already contacted the 2 individuals to work things out.
