Wich color temp to grow indoor plants / vegetables

Hi!

I have a 2 bulb T5HO fixture kicking around and want to grow fresh herbs (and maybe salad) and african violets.

What color temp would be best?

I think red is good for flowering and blue / white good for growth but im not sure.

What do you think?  My first idea would be 2 X 6500K...any better combination you can think of?

6500k for growth  (cool white)
2700k for flowering (warm white)

light cycle should be roughly 16-18 hours on for good growth rates.

I'm using a 4 bulb HOT5 on my palms and bananas with 4x 6400k bulbs, they're doing really well! If you're looking for growth no doubt ~6500 is the way to go. Flowering go with HPS bulbs.

The species Musa Accuminata is the edible variety... I've got a few young ones Hopefully in a few years I'll have fresh Ontario grown bananas!
