Title: where to get a clean up crew
Post by: murgus on July 27, 2006, 04:00:14 PM
Where is a good place to get an initial clean up crew?

Looking for hermits, snails, stomatella(?).

Which are better red-legged or blue for the hermits?

Thanks,
Andrew

They're pretty much anywhere and can't carry ick to my knowledge.

The red leg is more decorative than the blue leg.  The blue leg seems to be a better cleaner.

Hi, you should check out aquariacanada.com...he has very good prices, I don't think he has any hermits though, or you can PM ray or redbelly on this site and see what they available...I'm new to this hobby too and so far I have only purchased from these people and everything is great../

Depends what kind, most snails are 2.99, blue leg hermits are 1.49 (I think), red legs are more, halloween are 14.99.

Does the OVAS member discount of 15% apply to livestock?

Thanks,

Thanks - any idea what one would expect to pay for blue-legged (or red-legged) hermits?  Any one have a couple that would be willing to part with?

Thanks,
Andrew

I got blues legs because I read that they are less agressive then redlegs and dont grow as big but I dont know if thats true or not. They are a very common item and  probebly  come in every week or two.

If your lucky Matt will be working and you wont get any empty shells ;)
