Title: Epoxy and Bubbles in Protein Skimmer
Post by: lovetoteach on August 09, 2006, 07:37:50 PM
I secured a large frag of hammer coral with saltwater epoxy from marinescape on tuesday.  Since then, I can't turn on my protein skimmer, even on the lowest setting, as it bubbles over extremely quickly.  I was hoping someone would know what I can do to the tank to allow me to turn the skimmer back on.  Im getting worried that protein levels will get too high?  PLEASE, I dont know what to do!!!

Could it be your skimmer just starting up?  My CPR backpak does that sometimes, it will remove min 3 cups of just white froth and then it slows down and takes out the darker skim.

As with any skimmer.
anytime you do water changes or add any type of dozing
Or in your case glue (Chemicals)
skimmers tend to do this.
simple solution just keep emptying the cup.......
this will be no more than 3 times.........Cups
way far less water than evaporation if you think about it.
cheers.
