Title: Feeding clown fish
Post by: murgus on August 14, 2006, 12:02:38 PM
Hi folks,

I was wondering what would a good mix to feed my new clown fish?  Currently we feed them frozen mysis and cyclop-eeze flakes.  Should they be getting anything different?

Thanks,
Andrew

i feed goldfish flakes and nori (sushi wrap from loblaws) too, mysis 2-3 times/wk, flakes 5-7 times a wk! 1-2 meal/day max!

my fw fish love nori too!

Thanks for the nori tip - I'll definitely try that!

Maybe it depends on the clown fish type, but my ocellaris and GSM clowns have no interest in nori at all. They may eat any flake food, but really like freeze-dry cyclop-eeze and frozen mysis shrimp and freshly hatched brine shrimp.
Feeding once per day, sometimes leaving one day per week without food. If they will get hungry I assume they may hunt mysid shrimp and amphipods in the tank (as my mandarins do).

Regards

My clarki loves brine, but it's not as nutritrious as mysis.
