Title: Buying Question on Metal halide
Post by: Boosterman on September 10, 2006, 11:08:00 PM
My tank is 48 -18 - 30 high and is 110 gal.
I have about 80 lbs of sandy grave and about 100 lbs of live Rock.
My tank is not the regular size in height.
So I can get my hands on two 250 watt metal halide's full system for 250.
I know 400 would be the best , I'm just wondering if I would really in the long run be waisting the money and I should hold out for a 400 watt system.

Thanks in advanced.

See sometimes help is needed.  But never directions..  ;D

Boost..........
there are few members selling mh lights at aquaria.ca.
you might want to check......
As I did see your tank today,I would suggest a dual
400 watts mh.......But hydro would be a consideration on that choice
also depends on what types of corals you want.
softies,lps,sps.
IMO.....that is. :D

have you thought about t5 instead? alot of people are switching to these with the same results as mh. bulbs are alot cheaper anyways!
