Title: T5 Lighting
Post by: neon on January 20, 2007, 06:41:18 PM
I was at Superpet in Kanata today and noticed their new T5 Lighting display.  I've always had trouble growing plants, except java fern and moss, and was considering this.  Its designed to go right over a bare tank, but seems kind of expensive.  I have a 33 gallon long, and it would cost about 200.00 for the double light set up. I'd appreciate any comments from anyone.

I have seen the fixtures & they are impressive indeed, they are cheaper options which i`m sure others will advice, but if you like the fixtures i would say get them & source the bulbs else where( the cost of the hagen bulbs are insane), aquaria canada has 36 inch 10000K bulb for approx. 10.00 , also check places like litmore & Buchanan.

The Ballast and end cap DIY combo price is not bad at all, it comes with kind of (maybe) water resistant cap and the clips for the lights. The ballast also come with 2 years warranty. If I'm going to build another DIY canopy, I'll really consider buying from SP.  I don't get commission from SP!  :D

have you checked the local hydroponics stores?
they sometimes have good deals on light set ups.
