Title: How often should the filter tubes be cleaned
Post by: White Lightning on February 07, 2007, 10:48:48 AM
I was reading that it is a wise idea to clean the tubes for your filter as they could clog causing less of a flow. So... how often should they be cleaned?

I would only clean them if you see they need to be done, if you notice less flow or clogged.  I have had my Eheim runnning for 5 years and have never had to clean the tubes yet.

Another time would be when you see junk coming out.

I rinse out the tubes in my HOB filters once every few months, just to flush out the big chunks  :P but have never cleaned the tubing for my Eheim.
