Title: Great Idea for simulated moonlight
Post by: homestar726 on March 14, 2007, 12:05:44 AM
I had a brain moment today... I was try to think of a way to get simulated moonlight (aka dark blue light) for my tank, and it hit me. I had a some of those neon glow light things from Canadian Tire I had ripped out of my old "cool" car. I bought a more "responsible" car, and they have been sitting in a box ever since. So i rigged them up and they are beautiful!!! Anyone who wants a low budget, but way cool looking night tank should try this out. I think the lights (yes light(s) cause there are two) were something around the ball park of 19$ or less whe i got them. Keep you eyes out cause they go on sale all the time.

Ill post a pic and you tell what you think. And a newbie question if I may... It wont harm the fish to have this "night light"?

i have night lights near all my tanks - the little hallway type - but I believe its better them leaving them in absolute dark.

your lights should be fine as long as they arent very bright
