Thanks!  I meant the natural green of the plants, not the printed green.  The foreground plants are glossostigma elatinoides, dwarf hairgrass, and a few pogostemon helferi.  The surprising thing for me about this setup has been the lighting.  I am using only 2 of the four 54Watt T5 bulbs; on for 8 hours a day and the plants seem to be doing well.

What is the background plant? That light is surprising. CO2? What size tank? 40 long?

Really amazing!

Is that current from a filter output on the left or the hairdryer thing?

Yes pearlweed (hemianthus micranthemoide)

Haha, no blow dryer tricks.  Just oxygen and CO2 bubbles on the water surface being pushed around
by the filter out take.  Everything was left running when I took the picture.

My thinking is that you only live once and if you like it enough, just get it :)
The open top and shallow depth really eases maintenance work.  Trimming the plants and cleaning the tank is not as painful to do.  It is still time consuming but not as much of a pain since there isn't any tank cover or plastic bracing in the way.

Not intended to high jack this tread.
Would a beginner be able to achieve this?
What would be a good sized tank in length, width, and height?

Thank you again not intended to high jack. ::)

Kind of big question ... maybe start a thread linking this one as your question... :)
