Title: Filter floss
Post by: Vizerdrix on March 19, 2008, 08:13:54 PM
Another heads up on a great deal: FabricLand at the Shoppers City East (near Ogilvie and Blair) has PollyFilla <sp?> on for $4, reg. price $6.  This is a 1 lb bag.  I now have enough to last me at least a year!

Is it bigger than the walmart floss pack?  I think I pay 4.50 or so at walmart.  They never have more than three packages or I'd buy more each visit.

I go through a bag ever three weeks or so.  I hate my well water.

I think it might be... Trying to remember the size of the one I saw at WM...  And they had a whole bin of them!

Wow, that's a lot of floss to go through! :(  I barely use any.  Change it out every couple of weeks or so at the most, and it's only in one of my tanks.

Just checked - its the same size as walmart - just a bit cheaper.  I think I'll go pick up a few.

I have to trickle 60 gallons of water twice a week in a setup in my basement.  I put the floss in one of the drawers on the trickle tower.  It catches the iron and sulpher that gets precipitated out.  I could probably reuse it but I'd hate to think what would be growing on it between uses.  I just throw it out after the water change water is emptied.
