Title: intriguing Madagascar lace leaf
Post by: grenso on March 26, 2008, 02:24:37 PM
2 weeks ago I acquired a Madagascar lace plant from someone who was having a difficult time maintaining it. I removed all the leaves and left with only a naked bulb. I buried it under the gravel and waited for results. After like 5 days or so, a thick stem appeared (about 3 cm high, 1 cm thick), and I originally thought it was going to flower but it didnt. A few days after that, one leaf appeared and I knew the lace plant was going to be okay. Then after that, a stem appeared and it was not as thick as the first one and it seems like the flowering one but it has yet to reach for the heavens. After that, another leaf has appeared. My question is about those 2 different stems, a thicker, roundish one and a thinner one with possibility of being the flowering one. Is this natural to the lace leaf or much ado about nothing at all. I am not worried but I am wondering.
