Title: Powerhead for UV sterilizer
Post by: Jeff1192 on August 31, 2008, 02:41:12 PM
I'm still trying to find an adjustable powerhead for my TurboTwist UV sterilizer. I'd like to be able to keep the flow to about 50 GPH.

I was wondering if this would do the trick

http://www.bigalsonline.ca/StoreCatalog/ctl3664/cp18138/si1316815/cl1/aquarium_systems_minijet_404_pump?&query=404&queryType=0&offset=

It seems to be just want I'm looking for.

I'm open to other ideas as well.

I initially tried a smaller powerhead (175 gph) for mine - which was mounted (at the time) hang-on-tank. The smaller PH wasn't powerful enough. In the end I went with a MJ 1200 (295 gph)

If you want to control the flow - just put a ball valve on the output hose.

I am guessing since you've gone pressurized you don't want to things on the output? Why use an external pump? Here is to a small external pump: http://www.marinedepot.com/ps_AquariumPage~PageAlias~pumps_eheim_universal_hobby_powerheads_information.html#1046_1048_1250

There are a lot more here. They ship fast maybe can find it else where too.
