I saw one of these at PS near Costco on Merivale.

I like the look, especially if you do not use a cover. Less plastic gives a lot more visibility when standing above the tank, when feeding as well. I think Amano makes the similar style.
Does anyone have any experience or knowledge about these? Must be more fragile?
Thank you.
-Steve.
Hello Steve,
I'm setting up my third frameless Hagen tank, they are great, no problems (no leaks, no chipping) up to now. Had a 5 gal and 48 gal running for about 1 year and a half now, setting up a 25 gal long as a small display tank. They are just like the framed tanks, other than if you have clip on items, like a filter or heater, you may have to spend a little more time to hook them up level. But definately a great display look, as you had mentioned less plastic gives a lot more visibility.

I have a 21g of this style right now in my basement. I had it up and running as a planted tank for about 6 months. it has a canopy though that comes down and covers the entire top of the tank.
Gentlemen - thanks for the replies. Very informative.
Chris, are you using a canopy or lid on yours?
(In my case, I have the 48" coralife fixture with legs so I could go without a canopy).
Do these tanks carry a price premium? Do you recall %? And finally, where did you pick yours up? I've looked around at retailers and have only seen one or two frame-less tanks.
i got mine at superpet during the closing sales.
Hello,
I've got the caponies setup on them to ensure that my cories dot jump out. purchased my 5 gal and 48 gal during the super closing in Orleans then just purchased my 25 gal at PetSmart as a complete kit (The Hagen Waterhome Euro kit). The kits are reasonably priced. The 25 gal long kit is priced at about 160$(includes most items needed).
