Saw this BA Innes and loved the colours. But they never have labels for their plants. I think it is a Bacopa found some similar pics said Red Bacopa. Does any know what it is exactly? Here is one out of the bag & one after planting and cleaned up.

Dan it does look like bacopa caroliniana/ AKA Giant red bacopa, take a leaf & crush it up between your fingers , if it has a lemon fragrance that`s what it is.
If it is that, i suspect it was grown above water, hence the deep red, unless you have a ton of lights it might not sustain that brilliant colour.
The leaves are more delicate than the Carolinia. The leaves are more like an Indica. It does not Maybe it is a Rotala of some sort? I am torn between the two?
Still searching and it is really looking like Ludwigia ovalis: http://www.floridaaquatic.com/aquarium_plant_ludwigia_ovalis.html
Charlie what do you think?
Dan,
I recall purchasing this plant in the past and (if it is the same plant) the new submerged growth looked quite, quite different than the current leaves. It grew long thin needle like leaves under water. Can't remember what I thought it was, I'll try to find a picture.
Ok, here's a pic I found online. It looked exactly like this:

Or maybe it's this:

Look at the picture of emersed growth, it's not as red as yours but the leaf shape looks the same. I guess you'll know once new leaves start to grow. ;)
Irene
No both of those are Indica it is not that...
Ludwigia Repens ???

It is not repens. I got this name from BA Kanata off of the shipping invoice, 'Rotala Macrantha' but cannot find online pics or profile. Anyone know this plant?
Look for 'rotala macrandra' - it could be that you got emerged grown plants ...
It is a totally different leaf pattern/texture/stem everything. I hate not knowing a plant in my tank... >:(
I've just looked up Rotala macrandra in Peter Hiscock's Encyclopedia of Aquarium Plants and it looks just like the pic you posted - only not quite as red. It says "the stunning leaf color is dependent on strong lighting and iron-rich fertilizer" Think fischcopp might be right??

When looking at the pics I can't really tell what it is, I was just helping to get the name straight ... :)
I don't even know if R. marcrandra *can* grow emerged - was just a guess. Sorry for confusion. I think time will show: it should be easier to tell what plant it is once it is established in the tank and developed new growth. The planted tank requires a lot of patience at times ... ;)

The leaves are not even close to this plant they are almost round... macrandra are longer and common leaf shape very delicate leaves as well. It is not macrandra. I will pull off a leaf and post the pic tomorrow.
That's odd, Hiscock describes it as "The deep red colour of this oval-leaved plant . . ." just goes to show you that books are great but there's nothing that can replace real life experience!
Check out this link: http://www.aquahobby.com/garden/e_Rotala_macrandra.php a good example of what th eleaves look like. They are delicate too.
Hmmm ?? :(
