Title: DIY Skimmer Canus Plastics Question
Post by: gauthier613 on March 09, 2009, 07:11:03 PM
Has anyone ever asked Canus Plastics to make an acrylic cone?  They have all the parts for a DIY skimmer but not sure about the cone part at the top.  I know I can do it other ways but just wondering if you have ever had a cone made by them?

don't even go there. they couldn't even put a flange on a DIY skimmer without it leaking. when I complained they said ''YOU NEVER SAID YOU WANTED IT TO HOLD WATER'' they ruin it. >:(

So did you end up getting it to work in the end?  Did they attempt to make the cone?

FWIW I had them cut me 5 pieces of acrylic for the sump I'm building. The cost was very reasonable and the cuts were bang on and clean. There was a problem with two of the pieces being cut two inches too small (problem was on the invoice not the cuts) but I called them the next morning and they had the two replacement pieces ready by noon, free of charge.

Now I have the pieces for the baffles  ;)
