Title: Echinodorus Diamond
Post by: Fishnut on March 12, 2009, 07:30:27 PM
I got one at the GA and it's doing really well.  It sprouted a little plantlet directly beside the main plant and it started to grow a ling stalk with some kind of bud at the end.  Is this bud a flower?  It doesn't seem to be heading for the surface like other flower stems I've seen.

Cheers

My Echinodorus Rubin constantly puts out stalks. They never go to the surface. The tend to go about halfway up and then sometimes go back toward the substrate. Sometimes they flower and then produce more plants other times there are no flowers but new plants. I just always let them grow where ever they want to.

I also picked up a red diamond at the auction.  Got it home and found that there were two plants overlapping each other.  8)

Now both of them are making new, red red leaves.

I guess I'll have to wait and see what this one does!  Google wasn't helping much.
