Title: Suggestions on 6 * T5 tubes for reef
Post by: Funkmotor on March 18, 2009, 10:32:03 PM
I'm running a 36" T5 fixture with 6 tubes over my 40, and it's about time the bulbs were replaced.  It's got all-stock tubes in it right now, save for the one Pure Actinic.

There's a lot of hubbub about the Fiji Purple tubes but no one seems to have them yet.

So, given what's actually available in the local market, what 6 tubes would you put in there?  I will say that I like the blue of the Geisemann Pure Actinic tubes...other than that I don't know what I might do.

I have a couple pieces of LPS lower down, lots of ricordeas, some zoos, and higher up it's all SPS.

Any ideas?

Funk, Pat (ottawa inverts) has the fiji purples, had them in stock for a while...  I also think they are installed over some of his SPS beds if you want to see them in action.

Check this out: http://tfivetesting.googlepages.com

It will give you a good base for T5 Lighting.

Here is the bulb combo I am going with

ATI Blue Plus
UVL 75.25
ATI Blue Plus
UVL Aqua sun
UVL Super Actinic
ATI Aquablue

I just got my ATI bulbs and they look great they give allot more light than my older bulbs.
