Title: Have you seen something like this?
Post by: FocusFin on May 07, 2009, 07:50:11 AM

I am looking for a plastic bottle/container with a separate chamber in the neck to squeeze a certain amount of liquid into and then pour out. If you've ever used two stroke oil for your weed eater etc.. the oil sometimes comes in a bottle with a 20 or 30 ml "chamber" in the neck which allows you to squeeze out/up the correct amount of oil then simply pour it out.

I am extremely lazy and find pouring my two part calcium liquids into a measuring cup very strenuous ;D.

If you've seen something like this please let me know.

My other option is to use a plastic gerbil water bottle. They are metered so you can squeeze out a measured amount but that still allows for accidental overdosing.

Thanks,

Mike

Listerene Agent cool blue. It's like mouthwash that shows kids where the plaque is on their teeth. It has the kind of top you are looking for, but not very big. It has a 10 ml. measurement on it.

That might work and solve my fishes' breath problem, I've been adding liquid garlic to their food lately ;D

I have exactly what you're looking for unless my fishkeeping buddy tossed it. It's an empty bottle of red slime remover I bought while on vacation in Florida. Do you want it if I still have it?

Yes sir. Let me know. I'll need a second one for the two part dosing but maybe I can track down a bottle of the stuff.

Thank you

I'll have a look tonight. I do remember that the measuring part on the top was 3 ounces because that was exactly the dose required. You sure don't want to buy this stuff just for the bottle. I think it was about $30 US.

The bottle at that link is just about exactly what I have (if it isn't already landfill).

I'm not sure what they use in fuel injection cleaner but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it's probably not reef safe  (https://www.ovas.ca/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.emoticons4u.com%2Fobscene%2Feck01.gif&hash=435c86a44bdb8f2416e1a3cf1fe3c32950dbce1c)  but I do appreciate the input from you and everyone else (https://www.ovas.ca/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.emoticons4u.com%2Fhappy%2F042.gif&hash=4bc1cfd6e3b0e21f92fa88bdb802b35145cb169d)

This is what I've been looking for. Thanks, Dave (Saltcreep) it's perfect.

You squeeze the liquid (Calcium) into the measured resevoir and pour it out. Now I just need another one for Alk.
